The popular swahili saying that, “Siku za mwizi ni arobainne”  is very true. Somehow or other the thief will get caught. But make sure you understand that the saying most time only applies for the common man. High and mighty men most always escape the laws retributive power. This story is about one such crazy thief caught in Guinea.

So there is a viral video of a thief confessing to his crimes and also congratulating the police for the job they did in capturing him. Boubacar Diallo commended the police during the interview after he was caught. Diallo who is a student at a technical college in Mamou, Guinea said he knew the repercussions that would come if he was convicted. The video is in French and so I had to get a translation of his remarks in English.

This is what he said in front of the cameras regarding the police:

“The national police head office should be congratulated. I also want to say that the police need equipment because it has well-trained officers. Serious.”
He also said he did not think that his days as a thief would end so quickly. But truth be told this is a shocking display of craziness or madness or brilliance. Maybe this is a strategy he will use in the courtroom to ask for leniency. And by Jove I think it may work. That is the only plausible solution I have for his remarks on camera.
