Controversial activist Okiya Omtatah has decided to turn the heat up on Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) governor Patrick Njoroge.

The activist demands that the CBK should remove images of first president Jomo Kenyatta from all Kenyan notes within 7 days.

“The CBK should publicly declare that it will, with immediate effect, begin withdrawing all unconstitutional currency notes and coins from circulation,” Okiya Omtatah said in part in a letter dated September 14th.

The activist said the notes and coins should be replaced with those that do not bear the image of any individual as demanded by the Kenyan constitution.

Omtatah threated to sue the CBK if they fail to meet his demands by close of business Thursday September 21st.
